Award-Winning, Upscale Concept Coming to the Crabtree Commons in 2016
J. Alexander’s Holdings, LLC, owner and operator of its award-winning J. Alexander’s casual dining collection, has announced plans to bring an upscale restaurant to Raleigh, with an opening planned in the second quarter of 2016.
Lonnie J. Stout II, President and Chief Executive Officer of J. Alexander’s Holdings, LLC, said the new J. Alexander’s restaurant will be located in Crabtree Commons located at the intersection of Creedmoor Road and Crabtree Valley Avenue. Crabtree Commons is the 2.73 acre parcel located immediately south of the Crabtree Valley Mall, a 1,326,000 square foot regional mall located in the heart of Raleigh.
The J. Alexander’s restaurant will be approximately 8,700 square feet with seating for more than 180 guests plus an outdoor dining area of 450 square feet with an additional 12-14 seating capacity. The restaurant will employ an operating staff of approximately 100 full and part-time professionals.
“We're extremely pleased to sign a lease and announce plans for our newest J. Alexander’s restaurant with a unique architectural design for the Raleigh market,” Stout said. “We have been aggressively seeking an extraordinary site for our upscale, contemporary concept in Raleigh for quite some time. Our new address in the prestigious Crabtree Valley area is consistent with our vision of owning and operating a restaurant that offers our guests exceptional food and the highest quality of professional service. We’re looking forward to being one of the leading restaurants in greater Raleigh.”
Known for its wood-fired cuisine, the J. Alexander’s menu features a wide selection of American classics – steaks, prime rib of beef and fresh seafood, along with a large assortment of interesting salads, sandwiches and desserts. J. Alexander’s also has a full-service bar that offers an outstanding selection of award-winning wines by the glass and bottle.
“Like every J. Alexander’s, our Raleigh restaurant will have a culinary team capable of executing a 95 percent made-from-scratch, award-winning menu,” Stout explained. “Guests in our restaurant will receive high execution levels of professional service in an environment
characterized by upscale ambiance. In creating this ambiance, we use European stemware for all of our wine service, high quality plate ware, roomy seating packages, furniture grade tabletops and a high level of detail finishes in all areas of the restaurant.”
The Raleigh J. Alexander’s restaurant, a freestanding building with 180 dedicated surface parking spaces, will be designed by Shea Design & Architects, Minneapolis, MN.
Operating hours for the new J. Alexander’s in the Crabtree Commons will be 11 a.m. to 10 p.m. Sunday through Thursday, and 11 a.m. to 11 p.m. Friday and Saturday.
